Lost for words?

If you’re overwhelmed by your to-do list, writing authentic copy to engage your audience isn’t easy.

It requires focus. It can stop you moving forward.

You need a copywriter.

Let me help.

Lost for words?

I can work with you to figure out:

  • who you’re writing for
  • what they need to know
  • and how to talk to them in a language that they know and love.

Whether you’re vying for the attention of your ideal customer, hoping to secure much-needed funding, improving your SEO, showcasing your services, or trying to change behaviour, words can be your greatest asset.

They can also let you down.

You need content and copy that knows its stuff, tells a story, and gets the job done.

The language doesn’t need to be writerly, or formal, in fact it can be quite ordinary.

But it needs to ring true with your audience, have impact, and make things happen.

Because, ultimately, words are all about connection aren’t they?

And people respond to – and buy from – people they connect with.

Speaking in a voice that feels good sounds simple – but when you’re busy it can be the hardest thing to get right.

Tone matters. Word choice matters.

Take some of the pressure off – let me find the words that work for you.

Hello, I’m Leo.

I’m a communications professional with a background in literature, visual arts, education, research, and publishing.

I’ve written web content, social posts, long form essays, press releases, brochure copy, adverts, blogs and policy documents. I’ve managed web migrations, print projects, and corporate communications channels.

I live in London with my husband and two daughters. In a house that is never quite tidy, often loud (thank you, two year old) and always full of paper.

As well as writing I make collage art and illustration and you can follow me @ordinary_shapes if that’s your thing.

I like words and pictures and food and books. I’m inquisitive and straightforward and I love to collaborate. I’m an ambivert who enjoys colour and ephemera and a good poem. (I won’t write one into your brochure copy though, unless you want me to.)

Take a look at my portfolio – and get in touch if you think I’d be a good fit for your writing project.
